Esteem Consortium in Partnership with Host Employer Construction Works Ltd
What is a Host Employer and how does it work?
A host employer is normally a social contractor who employs apprentices and then secures work placements for these apprentices throughout the Esteem Consortium supply chain.
The host covers its costs either through direct arrangements with Hull College of Further Education or with Construction Industry Training Board Construction Skills, and also charging out apprentices to the supply chain for a contribution to their salary cost.
- Construction Works is the host employer for the apprentices and takes the apprentices onto its payroll.
- Between the host employer and the consortium influence is placed where possible, through the procurement process or through the supply chain to secure work placements.
- The Esteem consortium and its supply chain companies provide the necessary work experience required for apprentices to complete the work based elements of their apprenticeship framework qualification.
