Esteem Apprenticeship Employment

After successfully bidding to deliver the councils Building Schools for the Future programme which will revolutionise the way the secondary schools in Hull will look and operate; the Esteem Consortium and their delivery partner Construction Works are starting the recruitment process for their first Apprentices.

Sam Whitaker who heads up the Esteem team is completely behind delivering their commitment to creating 210 Apprenticeships over the course of the four year programme;

“It will be hard work but right from the beginning we were amazed at the enthusiasm and commitment of the people of Hull as we did our research and consultations; this is why we are investing in the skills, employment and aspirations of the young people of the City”.

EsteemWorking on behalf of Esteem, Construction Works will recruit, employ and coordinate the training for all apprentices. This is a unique approach and means that not only will the programme deliver skills and qualifications; it will create jobs at a time when youth unemployment is rising and the number of jobs available shrinking.

Tracey Dervey, Project Director at Construction Works said

“We expect to recruit about 75 young people a year across a range of trades, competition will be strong but we are focussing on young people living in Hull and have set up a recruitment process that will ensure that anyone entering the programme will be able to cope with the training, anyone interested should in the first instance contact their Connexions Advisor”.

Esteem and Construction Works plan two events in the near future, one to coincide with National Apprenticeship week (1st to the 5th of February) and a Launch event to provide further information and an opportunity to meet Esteem, Construction Works and partners.
